Video: One Very Talented Pinstriper at Work

Pinstriping is an art form that combines precision skill with design, and one that is very commonly found in the world of automobiles and motorcycles.

Like many other arts, it's a talent you either have or you don't. This particular pinstriper, who was filmed while working on a series production Royal Enfield motorcycle gas tank at the company's factory in India, certainly has the talent.

Watch the video and you will understand why some people claim that professional pinstripers have steadier hands than brain surgeons do.

Tragedy Strikes MotoGP as Marco Simoncelli Dies in Sepang Race Accident [Video]

October has been a very bad month indeed for motorsport. Only one week after former IndyCar champion Dan Wheldon was killed in a 15-vehicle pileup at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, tragedy struck again, this time at the Moto GP race in Malaysia.

It was only the second round of the race at the Sepang track when Marco Simoncelli lost control of his Honda bike and fell on the tarmac. For unknown reasons, his helmet came off when he was struck by Colin Edwards on a Yamaha and compatriot Valentino Rossi on a Ducatti, both of which were very close and could not avoid the unlucky Italian rider.

Crazy Idea of the Day: LP Record Playing Bicycle…

Ask any young person about LP records these days and most will probably look at you as if you just crawled out of a cave. But not these Dutch youngsters that came up with a cool idea – albeit a completely useless one in the age of electronics.

What they did is combine a bicycle with a record player. And how did they manage that, we hear you ask? By adapting the rear wheel of the bicycle in order to play LP records.

Video: One Very Caring Motorcyclist

Here's some proof that you don't have to be an inconsiderate driver (you can replace the description with something more R-rated if you'd like…) to make headlines.

A UK motorcyclist's simple gesture of stopping between a Ford Ka and a Toyota Avensis estate to open the latter's closed passenger-side mirror while giving a thumbs up to the driver after his deed, has garnered more than 60,000 views on Youtube in less than 24 hours after it was uploaded.

You can watch it for yourself right after the break.

Video: Beware of the Flying Dirt Bike

Figuratively speaking, there are many things one may expect to fall from the sky but somehow we didn't think a dirt bike would make the list. Up until now, that is.

Unluckily for this young lady that was out walking her dog along with a friend, a motorcycle did come crashing down on her, not from the sky but from several feet above the ground.

We don't know if this was a private dirt trail and the woman somehow wondered inside the path or if the biker was at fault for using the track. In any case, swoop down to watch the clip.

Video: One Incredibly Lucky Lady, One Reckless Truck Driver

Joining a line of people that were saved from the irresponsible actions of drivers on the road by sheer luck is this young lady from the town of Racari in Romania.

The woman was trying to pass the pedestrian crossing in front of the city hall with her bicycle when a mad truck driver didn’t even bother to slow down and hit her. Call it luck, but she was fortunate enough to fall down and avoid being crashed by the dumpster. Scroll down after the break for the clip.

Caught on Film: Alert Toyota Driver Saves Careless Motorcyclist's Life

Due to the fact that motorcyclists are far less protected in the event of an accident, they usually pay more attention to the road than car drivers.

But not this time as the man seen in the video footage below riding the scooter carelessly took the corner a little too wide and too fast. As a result, he drifted to the other side of the road and eventually lost traction and fell down.

Luckily for the biker, the driver of the oncoming vehicle (which appears to be an older-generation Toyota Corolla sedan), was fully alert and managed to avoid hitting him the last moment.

Video: Can You Guess What will Happen Next?

Simply put, there are some things you just shouldn't do with a motorcycle - i.e. attempt a wheelie on the move with three people on board. You can add to that over-loading your bike with products as if it were a two-wheel commercial vehicle.

If you're still wondering what we're talking about, click over the jump to find out what happens next in the short clip that follows.

Video: Here's Why a Three-some Wheelie is a Very Bad Idea

I think it's safe to say that at one point or another, we've all done something senseless on two or four wheels, especially at a younger age.

But seriously now, who in their right mind would attempt a wheelie on a motorized bicycle motorcycle on the move with three men on board? Guess they got what they were looking for….

Enjoy the video right after the break.

What a Bright Idea: Bicycle LED Lights are Not Only Cool but Also Promote Safety

Working in what appears to be a basement somewhere in San Francisco, two biotech employees and a former NASA engineer have developed a radically new lighting system…for bicycles.

While advances in bicycle technology don’t typically arouse my interest, I’m a sucker for shiny objects and the wheel-mounted Revolights are actually very cool.

Drawing power from a rechargeable lithium ion battery, the system consists of four “light rings,” each sporting a dozen LEDs and a dash of electronics. While stationary, the lights simply flash in sequence and are as every bit as boring as one might expect flashing lights on a bicycle wheel to be. But just get those wheels spinning and watch the magic happen!
